Computer Maintance and Trouble Shooting
labs, carts, classrooms
While most of the Computer Maintance and Trouble Shooting is handled through our Helpdesk and Trouble Ticket Desktop Icons, my staff calls me daily and knows I will either come to their rooms or walk them through what I can over the phone. Most documents are created for us and are district policy. Videos can be found through our iCafe so I can direct them to the correct one.
Since I am in charge of our on campus technology, here is one example of what I use to organize and distribute our iPads- this is what I call my iPad "Boxes".
These are Fabulous for storage and for charging as they charge in less time then plugging each iPad into a separate cord/wall unit. In addition, each is numbered, so teachers and students know where to place each iPad.
These "boxes" are not only for charging, they also sync. Each hook up to each other and to a computer, so Apps can be pushed out to all 30 at a time. We have 3 more boxes coming in for next year.
Another helpful tip I have found is to humber my iPads using the home screen. This helps teachers keep track of the iPads in the classrooms and to make sure the students do not change the homescreens or add Passcodes - which causes problems with Apple.
